Sassybax was created by Amanda Horan Kennedy, former Miss Texas USA, to fill a void in the women's bra market. She realized that there was no possible way to avoid visible bra lines, the ugly bulges women get on their backs from where their bra straps dig in. She hunted and hunted for an item to provide support without visible bra lines, but there were no options. Thus the idea for Sassybax was born. The prototype product was just a pair of control top pantyhose turned upside-down with the legs cut out. She slipped the tube over her head and stuck her head where the legs would go, creating the basis for the original model.
